Collecting official items for Moral Orel can be a real drag.

We are sad to report that, like with many other shows, Adult Swim really dropped the ball when it came to merchandise for Moral Orel.

Alongside two Kidrobot toys and two official T-shirts, Moral Orel Volume One on DVD was released in America.

Other than using Orel’s face on a few additional promotional items, that’s the extent of merchandise released in America.

Fans will be happy to learn that Madman Entertainment (Australia / New Zealand) bought the licensing rights to Moral Orel and released Volumes One, Two, and Three in Australia, alongside the insanely rare Complete Lessons Collection DVD. Although these releases get negative reviews due to some episodes being censored, these are the only official releases for Volumes Two and Three.

Below, we have an extensive list of (almost) every official Moral Orel piece of merchandise.

Additional Collector Information: This is by far the easiest Moral Orel item to find. This set was Adult Swim’s first ever uncensored DVD release, containing unaired director’s cuts of 4 episodes (God’s Chef, Charity, Maturity, and The Best Christmas Ever!). This set contains the episodes “The Lord’s Greatest Gift” to “Offensiveness”, as well as several extras, including the Awkward Comic-Con Panel, deleted scenes, a behind the scenes featurette, promos, and bumps. It was sold in brick-and-mortar stores as well as on the Adult Swim Shop. In 2008, the DVD was given away for free to those who purchased the “Orel Died for your Sins” shirt from the shop.

Additional Collector Information: This is the last official release of Moral Orel anywhere in the world. It was released by Tellyvisions through Studio Hamburg exclusively in Germany and Austria. It contains all 13 episodes of the show that were dubbed into German, meaning that this is the only release of the first volume to not contain the episodes “Elemental Orel” and “Offensiveness”. It also does not contain any of the extras previously released in the other Volume 1 variants. As a bonus, this set also contains every German dubbed episode of The Brak Show.

Additional Collector Information: This is the first time any episodes from the rest of season 2 have been released on DVD. It was released by Madman Entertainment exclusively in Australia and New Zealand. It contains the episodes “God’s Blunders” through “Nature - Part 2”. This set also contains character profiles that were originally seen on the Adult Swim website (and can be seen in the photos tab).

Additional Collector Information: This is the first time season 3 has ever been released on home video. This set was released by Madman Entertainment exclusively in Australia and New Zealand. This set contains the episodes “Numb” through “Honor”. The set also contains three video commentaries from series creator Dino Stamatopoulos over the episodes “Numb”, “Nesting”, and “Honor”, which were originally on the Adult Swim website.

Beforel Orel DVD USA (Emmy Screener)

Additional Collector Information: This release was created exclusively for registered Emmy voters. It is a rare Emmy screener that was intended only for Emmy voters in order for them to be able to watch Emmy nominees before they’re released to the public, and so they can vote for their favorites before the award season. Unfortunately, as is protocol with Emmy screeners, many were very likely either returned or destroyed after they were viewed, and even fewer people managed to hold onto theirs and lost them. There were only a handful of these made (there were 12,000 registered Emmy voters in 2012), so finding a single one of these can prove challenging.

This DVD comes in a normal size DVD case with a MEATWAD image on the side panel. “The Lord’s Greatest Gift” is the Moral Orel episode that is included (although, oddly enough, a screen-cap from “God’s Chef” is seen on the menu). The sampler also plays a Mark Rivers track, Interlude 1, on the menu.

Additional Collector Information: This promotional release included five different Adult Swim shows. As you can see, it does not include Volume One of Moral Orel. The reason we include this on our list is because of the box art that includes Orel, Shapey, and Clay, as well as a description of the show featured inside the booklet.

Additional Collector Information: This is one of two Orel figures that were made for the Kid Robot/Adult Swim Series 1 lineup. The toy represents Orel from Season 1 Episode 2 “God’s Chef”. The Kid Robot/Adult Swim figures were sold in blind boxes, and you had a 2 in 25 chance of getting this specific Orel figure.

Additional Collector Information: This shirt is one of two Moral Orel shirts that were ever available to the public. It was created in 2007 and was sold at Hot Topic stores all across the country. It’s unknown when they stopped printing this shirt.

Moral Orel “Orel Died For Your Sins” T-shirt

Additional Collector Information: This shirt is the other of the two shirts that were ever available to the public. This shirt was sold on the old Adult Swim Shop. When it first came out, every purchase of the shirt came with a free copy of Moral Orel Volume 1, in honor of the show’s cancellation. In 2009, the shirt was available to purchase either in the bundle with the DVD ($20) or by itself ($18, later reduced to $12). The shirt was taken off the website in 2012 with the closing of the shop.
